Brave | Mishawaka Child & Family Photographer
These little troopers braved the cold with their parents and me today. I think we caught the best light of the day too! One thing I've noticed since beginning to photographer little ones is that boys are way more active and definitely make me work (which is perfectly fine with me)! I think there is one motivation behind everything a little guy does - Go, Go, Go! It was great to meet this family, and hopefully you'll get to see more of them when we wake from our winter slumber!

Christmas Mini | Goshen Family and Child Photographer
Happy (belated) Thanksgiving to everyone! I think I might still be full from all the yumminess - turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, pumpkin chiffon pie, Amish peanut butter, and on and on.
This morning I met up with one of my fellow teacher's family. She wanted some portraits of her children for their Christmas card. When I posted info on the Christmas Card minis, she just had to take me up on the offer (and the offer is still on the table). These 3 cuties go to my school, so I wonder if it's kinda strange for Mrs. Shupert to be taking their photos...hopefully not! Enjoy your sneak peek! :)

Taking Flight | Traci Shupert Photography
My husband has his private pilot's license, so Sunday afternoon we just had to take advantage of the unseasonable November weather (before Winter rears it's ugly head). We were hanging out with our niece - you know - the one you see all the time here on the blog. :) She asked if she could go flying, too. How could we refuse her new toothless smile?! Once in the air, we flew around the Goshen area. She particularly enjoyed seeing her school and her playground that looked so miniature from the air. By the way, I think it is super cool that my husband is a pilot. You can tell him I said that, too!

Christmas Card Mini Sessions | Michiana Family Photography
Can you find me in this photo? It's kinda like "Where's Waldo?", except I'm not wearing a red and white striped shirt and I'm not a boy. :)
This client asked if I'd be willing to take a few photos for their Christmas card. I thought it was such a great idea that I'm going to open my calendar to a limited number of mini-sessions for the Christmas season. So, here's the 411 on the mini-sessions:

And the Winner is... | What to Read Wednesday
Puppy | Goshen Family & Child Photographer
November? | Nappanee Family Photographer
Saturday was absolutely beautiful! When I got out of the car and greeted the clients, we both remarked at how warm and nice it was. Is it really November? I'm not complaining because I know Winter is waiting in the wings, itching to go. It's definitely Christmas photo season, and I was happy to meet up with this greet family for a few photos. I think we may have enjoyed the last unfall-like Saturday of the year!

Freebie | What to Read Wednesday
As I opened up my blogger account to post for What to Read Wednesday today, I realized that this would be my 101st post! So, to celebrate reaching the century mark, I thought it would be fun to host a giveaway! Who doesn't love free stuff?
This week I'm highlighting the book Actual Size by Steve Jenkins. I was introduced to this book at teacher workshop I recently attended. The author takes animals like the giant squid and uses an illustration that is the actual size of a giant squid's eye. It is enormous - literally! Along with the amazing illustrations, Steve gives the reader interesting facts about that animal's body part. You will be shocked and awed by this book!
Now, to the giveaway. There are 2 ways to enter to win the book, Actual Size.
#1 - Head on over to my Facebook page (become a fan if you'd like) and leave a comment under this photo telling me what you're reading right now or what you want to be reading right now.
#2 - Leave a comment right here on the blog telling me what you're reading right now or what you want to be reading right now.
Feel free to spread the news of the free book giveaway. The winner will be drawn on Sunday, November 15th at 9:00 p.m. EST. Happy reading! :)

Fabulous Fall | Northridge Senior Photographer
Saturday I got to meet up with another great senior from Raider Country (I'm partial to the Raiders since I also graduated from NHS)! We had to reschedule several time due to rain and dreariness, so I was so thankful for the fabulous fall weather we had this weekend. It was great to finally meet T and his mom. Best wishes for the rest of your senior year and beyond!

Alma Mater | South Bend Family & Child Photographer
We visited the dad's Alma Mater for this session. He graduated from the Law School last year, and now gets to work for the university. The weather forecast was touch and go all day, but thankfully the projections changed in our favor. I just can't get over how cute these children are that I get to photograph. I really could take photos of them all day! And thanks to Gymboree for the super cute perfectly coordinated outfits mom found for the girls. The oldest two girls were full of life and enjoyed playing with the leaves as we traveled around the campus. Thanks for a fun evening M Family!

Flying | Michigan Family Photographer
This past weekend I had the opportunity to take family photos for a friend who just happens to be the designer of my fabulous logo. Her family lives in Saginaw, MI, so we met them halfway in the Grand Rapids area. Instead of driving, my husband (who just happens to have his private pilot's license) flew me to the session. Isn't that great?! :) Aren't they a good looking family? We spent some time in a nearby park, and we found some great spots. My personal favs are the photos on the covered bridge. It was great to meet you, G family!

Gnome | Walkerton Child Photographer
I got to meet a lovely gnome on Saturday afternoon. (She's the cutest gnome I've every seen!) When mom contacted me, she asked to do the photos on their family farm. For future reference, I'm all over doing photo sessions at unique places. Little R did so great despite the windy conditions. I think the wind bothered me more than her! It was a pleasure to work with my very first gnome. Thanks B family!
Cookie Monster | Goshen Family & Child Photographer
Saturday morning, this family and I braved the blistery conditions to capture these photos. We were able to find shelter in Mattern's, a butcher shop downtown, and they were kind enough to let use their place for some photos. (Side note - if you're in Goshen and looking for some yummy sandwiches, check out Mattern's. I enjoy their pulled pork sandwich.) The mom of these cute kiddos is a childhood classmate of mine. It was great to reconnect with her. During some photos of just the kids, their dad told them that Cookie Monster was in my camera, and Little B said he saw Cookie Monster in my camera. I didn't know Cookie Monster was in my camera. That's awesome! Too bad he won't share his cookies with me. Thanks H Family!
