Baby, It's Cold Outside | Granger Baby & Family Photographer | Traci Shupert Photography

Meet Baby J - you'll be seeing her several more times in the coming year as she works her way to 1. Her parents welcomed her into this world a little over 3 months ago. She was all decked out in her Christmas sweater and jolly red pants. And those blue eyes! Merry Christmas K Family!

Pretty in Pink | Goshen Children & Family Photographer | Traci Shupert Photography

So glad I have families that are willing to brave the cold with me. These sweet girls attend the school where I work. Mom is a scrapbooker and wanted some photos to scrap over Christmas, so of course I was happy to fulfill her request. Have a great Christmas D Family!

Last Mini | Goshen Family and Child Photographer | Traci Shupert Photography

Saturday I had my last Christmas mini session, and thank goodness the temperatures took a turn for the better from earlier in the week. Funny story about this mother and I. We lived in the same hallway of the dorm during our freshman year of college. We quickly discovered that we went to rival high schools in the same area, and that we were born on the same day!
The kids looked super cute in the their fleece, and enjoyed trampling around in the snow. Merry Christmas S Family!

Brave | Mishawaka Child & Family Photographer

These little troopers braved the cold with their parents and me today. I think we caught the best light of the day too! One thing I've noticed since beginning to photographer little ones is that boys are way more active and definitely make me work (which is perfectly fine with me)! I think there is one motivation behind everything a little guy does - Go, Go, Go! It was great to meet this family, and hopefully you'll get to see more of them when we wake from our winter slumber!

Puppy | Goshen Family & Child Photographer

I got to meet up again with this little sweetie for her 6 month photos, and this time her parents got in on the action too! I'm a sucker for hats on little kiddos, and isn't this puppy hat just the cutest?! Note to parents: Hats, scarves, and other winter gear make for cute cold weather photos! :)

November? | Nappanee Family Photographer

Saturday was absolutely beautiful! When I got out of the car and greeted the clients, we both remarked at how warm and nice it was. Is it really November? I'm not complaining because I know Winter is waiting in the wings, itching to go. It's definitely Christmas photo season, and I was happy to meet up with this greet family for a few photos. I think we may have enjoyed the last unfall-like Saturday of the year!

Alma Mater | South Bend Family & Child Photographer

We visited the dad's Alma Mater for this session. He graduated from the Law School last year, and now gets to work for the university. The weather forecast was touch and go all day, but thankfully the projections changed in our favor. I just can't get over how cute these children are that I get to photograph. I really could take photos of them all day! And thanks to Gymboree for the super cute perfectly coordinated outfits mom found for the girls. The oldest two girls were full of life and enjoyed playing with the leaves as we traveled around the campus. Thanks for a fun evening M Family!

Flying | Michigan Family Photographer

This past weekend I had the opportunity to take family photos for a friend who just happens to be the designer of my fabulous logo. Her family lives in Saginaw, MI, so we met them halfway in the Grand Rapids area. Instead of driving, my husband (who just happens to have his private pilot's license) flew me to the session. Isn't that great?! :) Aren't they a good looking family? We spent some time in a nearby park, and we found some great spots. My personal favs are the photos on the covered bridge. It was great to meet you, G family!

Cookie Monster | Goshen Family & Child Photographer

Saturday morning, this family and I braved the blistery conditions to capture these photos. We were able to find shelter in Mattern's, a butcher shop downtown, and they were kind enough to let use their place for some photos. (Side note - if you're in Goshen and looking for some yummy sandwiches, check out Mattern's. I enjoy their pulled pork sandwich.) The mom of these cute kiddos is a childhood classmate of mine. It was great to reconnect with her. During some photos of just the kids, their dad told them that Cookie Monster was in my camera, and Little B said he saw Cookie Monster in my camera. I didn't know Cookie Monster was in my camera. That's awesome! Too bad he won't share his cookies with me. Thanks H Family!

Peek-A-Boo | Goshen Family & Child Photographer

I've definitely been thankful for the nice days we've had this fall, since they seem to be fewer than normal. This is a fun family that I met through my sister. Little Miss O made her debut on the blog earlier this summer (here). Mom makes adorable hair accessories. You can find Lil O Bows on Facebook and Etsy. The littlest member of the family recently celebrated her 2nd birthday, so we spent some one-on-one time together to get some photos of her. We played with leaves and trees and peek-a-boo. Way too cute! Thanks B family!

Red Robin | Nappanee Family & Child Photographer

You may be thinking there must have been red robins flying around us during this session based on the title of this post. Nope. This family had lunch at Red Robin before our session, and I just couldn't resist naming this post after that yummy, scrummy restaurant.

I always find it interesting to figure out how my clients come to me, and how many connections we have. I guess it just goes to prove that 7 degrees of separation rule. This family has been dealing with that nasty flu bug for the past couple of weeks, so thankfully they are on the road to recovery and feeling much better. We had a gorgeous afternoon, and the trees were in full color. Thanks M Family!
