Fabulous Fall | Northridge Senior Photographer

Saturday I got to meet up with another great senior from Raider Country (I'm partial to the Raiders since I also graduated from NHS)! We had to reschedule several time due to rain and dreariness, so I was so thankful for the fabulous fall weather we had this weekend. It was great to finally meet T and his mom. Best wishes for the rest of your senior year and beyond!

Writer | Northridge Senior Photographer

I was so excited when this senior's mom contacted me, and told me that one of the reasons they chose me was my interest in reading (if you haven't yet, check out What to Read Wednesday here on the blog). This senior has a passion for reading and writing. He just found out that he was accepted to Valparaiso University and is planning on majoring in creative writing. It's great to see that the love for reading and writing is still alive in our youth! Best wishes N as you finish your senior year and start this next phase in life.

SEN10R | Elkhart Senior Photograher

We had a cool evening weather for this cool relaxed senior. (I thought about using the word chillaxin' to describe this senior, but I thought that might make me look like I was trying too hard to be cool.) He's looking at possibly going into engineering after high school. We always need good engineers! As I spend time with these seniors, I think about all the decisions and possibilities that lay in front of them. How difficult but exciting it is to try and figure out what you want to do for the rest of your life at 18 years of age. Geez...I think I'm still trying to figure that out (13 years later). Thanks D & S for a fun afternoon!

Off! | Westview Senior Photographer

I'm thankful for many things tonight...especially for the makers of bug spray. My blood must be like a magnet for mosquitoes , so I was thankful that this senior's mom had some bug spray to protect me from being carried away. I was also thankful that we rescheduled this session in hopes for better weather. And better weather we got! One more thing I'm thankful for - these beautiful senior girls that I've been getting to photograph! We had a fun time finding the light around her home. I think I found my new favorite spot to photograph in - a boathouse. The light was just glorious! (As I was working with a group of 4th graders today at school, we were talking about the meaning of glorious. I immediately knew I was going to use that word today in this blog post. BTW, in case you don't know, I'm a teacher in my other life.) This family was so generous! They even sent me home with some yummy peaches! Thanks N & D! Enjoy your sneak peek!

Sunday Sweet | Westview Senior Photographer

Sunday, I was privileged to spend the afternoon with this beautiful senior. She's a bff of my cousin (click here and here) and previous client (click here and here), and the sweetest person you'd ever meet. I don't think she would even hurt a fly! :) She saved me from electrocuting myself on an electric fence. And those eyes! If you've been following this blog, you know I have a thing for blue eyes (they make me jealous). As I was snapping away, I told her that I thought she looked like a certain celebrity. What do you think? Leave a comment about who you think she looks like. I {heart} comments. Thanks K for a sweet Sunday!

More | Northridge Senior Photographer

During my last family session, I grabbed a few shots for this senior. We'll be doing even more in the spring. Can't wait to take even more!

Just the Kids | Middlebury Family & Senior Photographer

These kids are from the best (extended) family in the whole wide world - mine! :) I couldn't convince mom and dad to join in on the fun. They cited some silly reason like - I am not getting my picture taken today. One of these days I'll convince them that it is important to document not only the life of your children, but them too! They showed me a new little park around the area, and then we ventured downtown. I am really loving the urban setting. I'm like a kid in a candy store - there's always something yummy to find! The oldest is a senior this year, so we grabbed a few of just her too. I'll be posting those tomorrow. Thanks for a fun early evening!

YGTBKM! | Westview Senior Photographer

You've got to be kidding me? This senior is beyond photogenic! Her great ideas + her mom's great ideas + my great ideas = One Awesome Session!

We started out at a farm, and ended up walking around downtown. I think I could have taken her pictures all day. I was asking her about school, and she said during high school she's discovered that she loves to read. I probably said something like, " That is so awesome! What changed your mind?" But in my head I'm thinking, "I know why she changed her mind. She found something that was actually interested and engaged in reading." BINGO - that was exactly her answer! (For more on that topic of reader's interest - click here.) Thank L & S for a great time!

Trying Something New | Westview Senior Photographer

I thought I'd try something new. I made a slideshow of some of my favorite images of this beautiful senior {who just happens to be my cousin}. Feel free to leave a comment and let me know what you think. Enjoy!

Never Too Late | Penn Senior Photographer

It's never too late for some fun senior photos! This young lady graduated this year from Penn High School, and contacted me to take her senior pictures. She'll be studying at Southwestern Michigan College in the Fall. We ventured up to her aunt's lake cottage in Niles, MI. Once again, the weather turned out great {hopefully that trend continues for future sessions}, and the lake was a fun backdrop. I wish her the best as she starts a new chapter in life!

Couldn't Resist | westview senior photographer

Sunday I got to spend the late afternoon and evening with my cousin for her senior pictures. Everything was perfect - temperature, sunlight, soft breeze, great locations. I couldn't resist posting one of the many, many great pictures we got. More to come later! Thanks B!
